Chelsea Upbeat To Demolish Blackburn

Chelsea looks in a confident mood to beat Blackburn rovers on Sunday. The Londoners, after their controversial exit from the champion's league, destroyed the Gunners at the Emirates and Blackburn rovers are the next in line to face the Blues backlash from their most bitter defeat this season. Chelsea's response in the London derby was the response of the champions. They inflicted the heaviest home defeat of the Gunners at home in over 70 years to end their 21- match unbeaten premier league record.

Guus Hiddink's men have now confirmed their champion's league group stage berth and would like to end the season on a high. Their 4-1 hammering of the Gunners shows that they have that strong mentality to come out fighting. The Blues have Nicolas Anelka, the second highest goal scorer in their line-up along with the power pack midfield of sensational English midfielder Frank Lampard, German captain Michael Ballack and Ghana's superstar midfielder Michael Essien. Malouda has been more than a handful to from the left frank. He has been a constant threat for the defenders and is surely to start. The defense had a tough early part of the match at the Emirates but with the likes of inspirational captain John Terry and Brazilian Alex are rock solid at the back. Ashley Cole and Bosingwa are in smashing form at the flanks and will be a constant threat for the Blackburn rovers.

The only problem the Dutch manager has is the inclusion of once their key striker Didier Drogba. He has been out of form and was subject much of the criticism for the loss against Barcelona in the champions' League semifinals for his couple of clear cut missed chances. Blackburn rovers are fresh from their relegation battles which they have been fighting virtually for the whole season. Sam Allardyce will be visiting Stamford Bridge in a confident mood with relegation threats now almost over and a sweet win over Portsmouth where they kept a clean sheet. The Big Sam has South African Benni McCarthy to look to as he is in smashing form. The change of central defender Samba at the upfront has been working for the manager as well.

Pederson has been in good form and marshalling the midfield well in the last couple of matches. He has promised that as now the survival battle is over, they would like to end their hard fought campaign in style. El Hadji-Diouf can be another threat to the Londoners. The controversial striker has not been the fans most loved player but has been one of the keys for the manager. The main concerns for the Blackburn rovers will be the defense, they have conceded 35 goals in the away matches. There will be lots of work for the likes of Andrews, Givet, Nelson and Warnock. A clean sheet in the last match may have given them some confidence, but that they would have to be at their best to stop the red hot Chelsea.
